The Sunnecko Chef’s Knife (Gyuto) is a versatile, professional-style kitchen knife designed for everyday home use and special occasions alike. Crafted with a VG10 premium steel core and clad in 67 layers of stainless Damascus steel, it delivers excellent sharpness, durability, and long-lasting performance.
With a hardness of HRC 60±1, the blade balances toughness and edge retention. Its thin 2 mm blade allows for precise, smooth cutting, while the layered construction helps resist bending and chipping. This makes it ideal for slicing vegetables, meat, fish, and even bread, covering most kitchen tasks with one knife.
The ergonomic ABS resin handle offers excellent balance, heat and water resistance, and a secure, non-slip grip. A distinctive plum flower pattern pin is inlaid into the handle, adding a refined and unique design touch. The handle is designed to reduce hand fatigue, even during extended use.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
